Corrections Policy
If you believe a page on InsuranceGuide contains a factual error, outdated source, broken tool behavior, or misleading wording, we want to hear about it. Corrections are part of how we make the site more useful and more trustworthy over time.
How To Report An Issue
Email editor@hqinsuranceguide.com with the page title or URL, a description of the issue, and any supporting source you think we should review. The more specific the report, the easier it is for us to verify and act on it.
What We Prioritize
- Factual errors. Especially on state requirements, filing details, or policy explanations.
- Weak or outdated sourcing. Especially on high-value YMYL pages.
- Broken tools or usability issues. If a calculator or planner gives a misleading result because of a bug, that is a priority fix.
- Ambiguous wording. Sometimes the safest correction is clarifying language rather than rewriting the whole page.
How We Handle Updates
When a report appears credible, we review the page, compare the concern against the current source set, and update the page if the issue is confirmed. Depending on the issue, the update may be a factual correction, a wording change, a source replacement, or a broader manual refresh.
What We Cannot Promise
We cannot guarantee an immediate response to every message, and we do not promise to adopt every suggested interpretation. But we do treat well-supported correction requests seriously, especially on higher-risk insurance topics.
